1. Who we are

Merglings ("the app", "the game") is published by Geesoft ("we", "us"). Geesoft is the data controller for any personal data processed in connection with the app and this website. You can reach us at support@geesoft.eu.

This policy applies to the Merglings iOS app (bundle identifier eu.geesoft.merglings) and to the website at merglings.com.

2. What we collect

Nothing. The app does not collect, transmit, or share any personal information. Specifically, we never access or collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, location, photos, camera, microphone, calendar, health data, advertising identifier, or any persistent device identifier.

The app makes no network requests to any server operated by us. It contains no analytics library, no crash-reporting service, no advertising network, and no social-media SDK. It does not use Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework because it does not track you.

3. Data stored on your device

Your progress is saved in the app's private Application Support directory on your iPhone. It is never uploaded by us. If you have iCloud device backup enabled, iOS may include this data in your encrypted device backup; that backup is managed by Apple and by you, not by us.

The app also stores your preferences (music, sound effects, haptics, animations, selected skin and theme) in the same local storage.

Retention. Local data is kept for as long as the app is installed, or until you reset it from inside the app (see section 6).

4. Game Center

If you choose to sign in to Game Center, Apple shares your Game Center display name and an app-scoped player identifier with the app so we can show you on the leaderboard, submit your high score, and report achievements. We do not store, copy, or transmit this information anywhere ourselves; it is used in memory only while the app is running and is otherwise managed entirely by Apple.

Leaderboard scores and achievement progress are stored by Apple in your Game Center account. Other players can see your Game Center display name and score on the leaderboard, exactly as with any Game Center game. You can disable Game Center for Merglings at any time in iOS Settings → Game Center. The game remains fully playable without Game Center.

5. In-App Purchases

The app offers optional consumable coin bundles purchased through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Apple processes the entire transaction. No payment details, billing address, or other purchase information reach the app or us. We only receive a signed confirmation from Apple that a purchase was completed so that the coins can be credited on your device.

Purchase records are managed by Apple and are visible in your Apple Account purchase history.

6. Deleting your data

Because all game data lives on your device, you are in full control of it:

• Reset in-app: open Settings → Reset Progress inside Merglings. This permanently erases your coins, best score, Bestiary, achievements, quests, streak, skins and power-up inventory. This cannot be undone.
• Reset settings only: Settings → Reset Settings restores audio, haptic and animation defaults without touching your progress.
• Uninstall: deleting the app from your iPhone removes all of its local data.
• Game Center data: leaderboard scores and achievements are held by Apple. You can manage them from iOS Settings → Game Center, or contact Apple Support.

Since we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to delete on our side. If you believe otherwise, email us and we will investigate.

7. Children

Merglings is rated 4+ on the App Store and is suitable for all ages. It is not part of Apple's Kids Category, is not directed at children under 13, and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. The app contains no chat, no user-generated content, no links to external social networks, and no advertising.

8. This website

This website is a static site. It sets no cookies, includes no analytics, and loads no third-party scripts or fonts. The server that hosts it may keep standard, short-lived access logs (IP address, requested page, browser type) for security and to keep the site running; these logs are not used to identify or profile visitors. The interactive demo board on the home page runs entirely in your browser and sends nothing anywhere.

Links to Apple (App Store, Game Center, Apple's privacy policy) lead to sites operated by Apple under Apple's own policies.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), or similar laws: the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

Because we do not collect personal data, most of these rights are satisfied automatically. If you still wish to exercise a right, or want to know which data (if any) we hold, contact us at support@geesoft.eu. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not engage in targeted advertising or profiling.

10. Changes to this policy

If the app ever changes in a way that affects your privacy (for example, if we add an online feature), we will update this policy, change the effective date at the top, and describe the change here before the new version of the app is released. The current version of this policy is always available at https://merglings.com/privacy and from the Settings screen inside the app.
